Many Hands Make Light Work

This week at Community Harvest, we served a delicious homemade coleslaw, hamburgers from Parkhurst Dining Services, beef vegetable stew, and a side of fruit!

Ben and regular CH volunteer John from Phi Kappa Psi created their own recipe for the sauce that was added to cabbage to make cole slaw. The cabbage was harvested  from the Community Garden in Lewisburg.

Brothers from Chi Phi Fraternity at Bucknell prepared the beef vegetable soup made from a medley of broths.

Theresa and Brianna battled with the watermelon again to chop into slices to be served with dinner!

Sarah, Theresa, and Brianna served dinner from behind the counter...

With many more volunteers from Chi Phi! They are one of the most organized and efficient group of volunteers we have had yet!

And of course the Chi Phi boys helped with clean up.

All in all we served 80 people this week and were able to give away extra bread and watermelon!
Check back next week to see how the awesome people from Bucknell's Civic Engagement Office manage Community Harvest while students our on fall break!
