The Lewisburg Community Garden has been producing so many many tomatoes! We had a great chicken and vegetable stir-fry, fresh purple and green beans and 2 different tomato dishes. St. Paul's UCC was our volunteer group. Enjoy the pictures!

Something new!
Tonight, we had spaghetti squash with our marinara sauce instead of pasta. This was something new all around, new for the patrons and new for us, as cooks. Once baked the squash becomes tender for shredding, and then you have a yummy alternative to pasta!
The squash was picked from the Lewisburg Community Garden along with some cabbage and carrots this week!

Everything is better with bacon!
The St. Andrew's Youth Group was the volunteer group this week. We created a rice, bacon, okra and swiss chard gumbo this week! The okra and swiss chard were freshly picked Monday morning from the Lewisburg Community Garden. We were able to roast some beets and other delicious vegetables!

Wild with Waikiki Meatballs!
This week we had over 30 lbs of lettuce from the Lewisburg Community Garden! That was enough for the patrons to take some home and have enough left over for other local food programs! It was quite a task washing, chopping and then bagging that much lettuce.
Our volunteer group, for our meal of Waikiki Meatballs, was the very enthusiastic!
peppers from the Garden as well!

For dessert this week, zucchini bread was offered (and yes, the zucchini was from the garden!) Jasmine, Sydney and Sarah made this culinary delight.

It's raining vegetables!
This week the Lewisburg Community Garden really grew this week! We had cabbage, corn, beets, and zucchini. There was enough for folks to enjoy with their meal -- and there was enough to put on the give away table too. The volunteer group was Community Menonnite Church! Enjoy the pictures!
